European Commission summarized the first numbers regarding the project proposals for Credit Mobility and Capacity Building for Higher Education, submitted for financing within the 2015-2016 Call.
During October 2015 and March 2016 universities from Republic of Moldova had the possibility to identify partners among Higher Education Institutions from European Union and apply together for mobility projects. The Call was opened for all interested Moldovan universities in offering their students and staff the possibility to study or teach, for a determined period, in HEIs from European Union.
According to the first numbers, 83 Mobility projects (Key action 1), involving Moldovan Higher Education Institutions, were submitted this year. A total budget of more than €4,1 MLN was requested by the applicants for implementing the mobility projects in Moldova. The sum would cover the scholarship costs for 1365 students, teachers and administrative staff.
Regarding Capacity Building projects in Higher Education (Key action 2), 41 projects were submitted within the Call of 2016. Three of them are projects that aim to be coordinated by Moldovan Higher Education Institutions.
Projects are now being evaluated in compliance with the European Commission's eligibility criteria.
The figures rgearding both Credit Mobility and Capacity Building projects are representing the application stage and may include both non-eligible applications and double applications. After the evaluation the numbers can vary. Final results will be published in July-August of 2016 so that the projects to start being implemented the Fall of this year.
