Information Day in Cahul: Moldovan students would like to have more Erasmus+ mobility opportunities

Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu University from Cahul has hosted on Thursday, October 18th, an informational event on the Erasmus+ Programme opportunities for Moldovan students in the context of the national campaign „Information Day”.

In this context, the NEO representatives have presented the academic mobilities’ opportunities in the Program Countries.

For the Republic of Moldova, in the field individual mobility, currently are available two main Key Actions: International Credit Mobility and Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees.

The first option offers to young people the possibility of mobility up to 12 months in a study cycle in an European university as they are studying in a Moldovan higher education institution. In the second case, the students can benefit from a master degree fully realised to the international university consortiums that founded the master course.

“Thus who benefited from the study mobilities in the framework of Erasmus+ are returning in Moldova changed. The Programme offers the chance of improving when studying abroad the linguistic skills, helps them to know a different learning system, to broaden the horizons, and to establish useful links. After finishing the university these young people are becoming more attractive for the employers, Erasmus+ studies being recognised internationally”, said the NEO Moldova coordinator, Claudia Melinte.

In the same time, the students have been appreciating the event and Erasmus+ Programme, mentioning the will to have more available mobilities for Moldova and the university they belong.

“Until the mobility, I was studying French, but during my mobility in Spain I’ve studied in English, I’ve accomplished some English courses before the application”, mentioned Maria, a student form the Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu University from Cahul while sharing her Erasmus+ experience in a university from Spain.

Also, the student has appreciated the quality of studies, the equipment made available to the students, the equipped libraries and also the possibility of choosing study subjects.

At the reunion was presented as well the Erasmus+ Youth Info Centre explaining to the audience volunteering and short-term training courses from which can benefit the youth workers and young people from our country. 

Information Day is an annual informational campaign held by National Erasmus+ Office in the Republic of Moldova which aims to present the Erasmus+ Program’s opportunities among the Moldovan students, young professionals, and university staff and also to promote the internationalization of studies, mobilities, and experience exchanges.
