More than 250 young people from 11 universities located in Chisinau participated on Tuesday, September 22nd, at "Information Day", a national campaign launched by National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) in Moldova. It is for the first time an event like this is separately dedicated to youth.
Students from Academy of Economic Studies, Technical University, Moldova State University, Free International University, Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, Tiraspol University, "I. Creanga" Pedagogical University, "N. Testemitanu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, International Relations Institute, European Studies University and Agrarian University were highly interested in study opportunities in Europe.
During the event two study opportunities for Moldovan youth were presented - short term mobility for those who are already enrolled in a Moldovan higher education institution and Joint Master and Doctoral Degree scholarships, available for those who want a full degree abroad. Students were very actively involved in the event and had many questions, especially regarding the practical aspects of the Programme - what does a scholarship cover, which documents are required for application or how advanced must the knowledge of a foreign language be.
The National Erasmus+ Office also gave them the opportunity to interact with an Erasmus Alumni. Diana Pinzari, a former Erasmus student in San Sebastian, Spain, shared her experience within a presentation. Other advices came from the representatives of the Departments for International Relations, that were also present.
National Campaign "Information Day" was launched on September 17th, in Comrat and Cahul. The last meeting with students will be held in Balti, September the 29th. The campaign is organized by NEO - the official representative in Moldova (on the higher education dimension) of EU's Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport 2014-2020.
Starting from 2004 till 2014 around 1000 (a thousand) students and academic staff from Moldova benefited of mobilities: scholarships, teaching, training activities or study visits through Erasmus+ Programme.
