The European Commission has selected this year for financing in the Republic of Moldova four Capacity Building in the field Higher Education (CBHE) projects. The beneficiary universities from Moldova are: the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Moldova State University, the Comrat State University, the State Agrarian University of Moldova, the Alecu Russo Balti State University, and the Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu State University from Cahul. The total budget for these projects which involve also universities form European countries (Belgium, Germany, Spain, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Austria, Holland, France, and Poland) and from the EaP region (Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Belarus) represents around 3 million of EUR, from which Moldova’s part represent approximatively 1 mln. Euro. In the first three selections, of the Erasmus+ Programme, in our country, 11 CBHE projects got financed.
Likewise, a new Jean Monnet project, submitted by the Institute of International Relations of Moldova will be realised with the financial support of Erasmus+ Programme (approx. 29.000 Euro). Currently, 8 Jean Monnet Projects are being implemented in the Republic of Moldova.
In the Erasmus+ Programme, which is promoting within the academic mobility among the students and university staff, have been offered to Moldova 506 new international credit mobilities (ICM) (outgoing and incoming to Moldova), which means that Moldovan students and university professors will have the possibility to have a better understanding, regarding the European Higher Education system, to implement the best practices and to further advance the internationalization process. In the first three selections, 1300 mobilities have been awarded to the Moldovan universities.
At the same time, the National Erasmus+ Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research, and the HEREs team, has offered to the Moldovan Higher Education institutions two Technical Assistance Mission (national seminars): “Human Resources Management at Higher Education Institutions” and “HEIs: Financial management and funding methods”, within the participation of the international experts from the United Kingdom of the Great Britain and Netherlands.
Also, traditionally have been organised in Chisinau, Balti, Cahul and Comrat, informational events on the Erasmus+ opportunities for Moldova.
In Moldova, 23 universities are participating in the Erasmus+ Programme.
The National Erasmus+ Office is highly appreciating the kind support of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova in organising the most important events this year and also the involvement of the Moldovan HEIs and of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research in this regard.
