5 students from the Republic of Moldova are among 2756 winners from around the world of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMD) scholarships in 2021.
EMJMD are high level master programmes offered by consortia of universities from EU and the rest of the whole world. They offer integrated courses of 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits and joint or multiple degrees (depending on the provisions of the programme). Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees courses last between 12-24 months, and the Erasmus+ Programme covers the travel, installation, health insurance costs, as well as provides a monthly scholarship of €1000 for the winning candidates. The EMJMD curriculum comprises at least 2 study periods in 2 countries of which at least one must be a Programme Country (EU country, Republic of North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia or Turkey).
These programmes aim to ensure mutual trust in higher education systems, facilitate the international mobility of students and graduates, cooperation between universities across borders as well as the mutual recognition of qualifications and study periods abroad.
The EMJMD Catalogue includes 149 master programmes at the moment. Most of consortia are receiving applications from candidates between October-January each year. The application is being done exclusively online by selecting the programme of interest from the EMJMD Catalogue, accessing the programme’s website where all the conditions for application are to be found.
It has to be mentioned that since 2014, a total number of 35 students from the Republic of Moldova have benefited of the scholarships offered by the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees Programmes, becoming active members of society and winners of prestigious international competitions.
